Lillian
I gave her this name as I can not quite recall what her name was. It definitely started with an L. We had a class together in college. An art class, I only knew her for that one semester. But I will never forget the experience of meeting Lillian. She was enigmatic. Very demure with silky brown hair, ice blue eyes and dressed in black and purple most of the time. The feeling of a mystical force overwhelmed me when she was around.
Do you remember the feeling when you were young and someone combed your hair or pretended to crack an egg on your head? The tingly all over feeling of relaxation. How your body just loses all stress, and you feel like you are floating. Lillian’s presence did this to me. Her voice was somehow magical. When she spoke, it was like she was putting you in a trance. I was never one to believe in witches or ghosts. But if I did, I would say Lillian was one.
I only saw her for three hours a week for the twelve-week class. But I can honestly say I have still not forgotten her. She had suggested we meet up for tea but I almost feared her and the power she had over me. I was a young mom at the time and really did not have the ability to mingle with anyone. I had school, studies, and motherly duties to twins. My life was full and I was a bit frightful of Lillian and her magnetism.
Sometimes it is okay to walk away. Don’t open that door if something inside of you is telling you not to.
