Kari
Quirky, cute and tiny. About 5’1” blond with that Farah Fawcett do! She had a tiny squeaky voice to match. She dressed old for her age. It has been twenty years since I have even thought about Kari and forty years since I have seen her. Kari started as an intern for me at the bank. She then worked for a couple of years. After that, she moved on to better things.
Kari was around in simpler times, when spare time was filled with crafting and Tupperware parties, or Home Interiors gatherings. Kari taught us how to make macrame angels out of string and glue. They were ornaments to hang on Christmas trees or set on tables.
She was spunky and yet innocent. Many people wanted to go out for a drink after work. Others preferred to go dancing on the weekends. But Kari just wanted to go home. Like a playful little puppy, she enjoyed the solitude of her home. She brought the love of being a creative type to my attention. That it was okay to not have to fit in and follow the crowd. I have always enjoyed learning from the younger generation. I was only in my twenties but I had a lot to learn from this spunky teenager. Simplicity being number one.
Her parents were older and wholesome people. They lived in a simple ranch and spoke very politely. They welcomed us all into their home so Kari could teach us how to craft the perfect angel.
Meeting people like Kari can round out your life. Simple, sweet and happy to just be!
